Testing by a well known boat/trailer manufacturer has shown that the Turbo Lube lubrication system is good for a hundred miles or more of travel even when all oil is lost. Unlike grease systems, the oil lubrication system leaves a residue on the bearings. Although we recommend that oil be added to the system whenever the system is low, the residual oil will allow for safe towing until the earliest opportunity presents itself to add oil to the system.
